Picked up Tim Russ from the airport. He's in charge of Operations in New Zealand, and he's here to help me out for a couple of weeks, so I can get everything back on track.

Tim and I drove up to the small town of Helen, GA. What a surprise this place turned out to be. The architcture of all the buildings is pseudo-Swiss Alpine. Very pretty, but also rather disturbing.

On the way to Helen we encountered the North Georgia Premium Shops, and did a little spending..

Tim's brother-in-law and his fiance (Tigger and Sarah) came up from Tallahasse, FL. We had a couple of beers and then headed to Virgina Highland for more drinks and a meal. Guiness at Moes & Joes, Limerick Junction, dinner at Dark Horse Tavern.

This is my first encounter with this part of Atlanta, and I thoroughly enjoy it. I resolve to come back again.

Tim and I check out Stone Mountain.

Stone Mountain is this huge rock sitting in the middle of the Georgia woodlands. Sort of like Ayers rock, except that it's not red, and there's no desert for miles. I take lots of photos of the rock and the view from the top of the rock.

Tim returns to NZ, and everything at work is more-or-less back on track.

Superbowl - Green Bay Packers vs Denver Broncos. I don't know who won, because I turned it off after three hours. I still can't come to grips with a game that has four 15-minute quarters, and takes longer than two hours to play. Unbeievable.

Saw "Great Expectations" (Ethan Hawke, Gwyneth Paltrow). 'Twas crap.
