April 1998

4 Apr

High Museum of Art, exhibition of Toulouse-Latrec.

22 Apr

Flew to Fort Worth for meetings at the Fossil Creek plant.

Joel Landers took me out to the Chili's that was close to both the Coke plant and my hotel. We had beers (Shinerbok) and the best steak that I had yet had in the US. Watched the Dallas Stars play San Jose Sharks. A great night's entertainment.

Back to Atlanta

28 Apr

Based on recommendations obtained from alt.gothic, I checked out 688 Spring St, a Goth-industrial club. It was very slow - about half a dozen people had appeared by the time I left at midnight. The place was a dive.

30 Apr

Based on excellent recommendations from a number of people on alt.gothic, I checked out Pandora's Box at Club Sol. I was greeted at the door by one Michael Cucarro: "Hi, I don't recognise you. You must be new. My name's Mike."

Oh yes, this is it - I've found my niche in Atlanta.

This evening I met Mike, Mike the bartender, Lori Buchanan, Russell Brown, and a number of other notables in the Atlanta Goth scene. The club was set up as a lounge-like bar area, with plenty of seating and a compfortable atmoshpere, and a separate dance floor area. The dance floor was very large and had a stage at one end. This particular night started with a art show - Ars Nocturna.
