DragonCon

Or should I say, AlcoholCon.

Anyways, I went over to Lauren's and we (including George) caught a cab over to the Hyatt. The line for a pass was out the door and onto Peachtree St. I was not interested in the least in joining that line so we went to the bar. People started turning up and drinks were had. And then Rosalie indicated that she could get me a VIP pass, so we away and got that sorted in less than 15 minutes. Rosalie rocks. She really is one of the coolest people I know, but it annoys me that it takes an act like that to happen before I express that. Publicly, anyway. I tell her she's cool all the time.

Sherrod, Jason and Heidi also obtained a pass in a similar manner. A bunch of us went wandering, checking out the traders rooms. I bought some anime DVDs (Evangelion and Ranma ½ and Alan Moore's masterpiece comic, From Hell which is being made into a movie starring Johnny Depp. That can't help but be brilliant. Unless the director sucks. I dunno who's directing.

More happened later today, but I'll talk about that later.

More DragonCon

Ron called me to say that he and Ben were heading to DragonCon, and a little while later I gave them a call to see where they were. Seeing as they were at McDonalds down the road from my house, I asked them to pick me up a burger and then pick me up. Heheh. And that's how I got to my second day at DragonCon 2001.

I let them go their way and then paged Clair. We agreed to meet at the bar (oooh, now there's a surprise). I had several drinks and he still hadn't turned up. Rosalie popped by with Pete, and later Stacie also wandered by. Finally Clair found me and the pace increased. Scott finally turned up for a while.

We went exploring. We found a borg, a stormtrooper, and more stormtroopers. While Lauren and George were off chatting, I took a couple of photos of Sherrod. Additionally, while we were outside, Lauren found Will and Michael.

I left at one point to go to Stacy's for a farewell get-together for Cliff. He's off to New York. I got there and there was heaps of food and plenty to drink. After spending a couple of hours there, I headed back to the Con.

Rob had joined the crew at this point. He was in high demand. First, Rob gave his love to Sherrod, and then Rob gave more love to Lauren. Scott and Rosalie posed beautifully, and Shawn and Lauren made faces. George finally let his guard down, with Rosalie and Shawn in the background.

Clair didn't really know what was going on...

Shawn, Heather, Lauren, Nancy, George, Pete, Scott, Some lovin', Ashley

More happened later today, but I'll talk about that later.

Recovery From DragonCon: AKA Labour Day

Essentially just spent the day on the couch watching TV and DVDs. We watched Evangelion, one of the discs I had picked up at the Con. It was really good. Lauren stopped by to pick up her credit card wallet (she had left it in my bag) and the CD she had bought. Very tired. But it was still a latish night as I had to pack for my next day's travelling. Ugh.

4 September

An early start to the day was not desired, but unfortunately was required, as I was heading to Salt Lake City. To say money, we didn't go direct, but via Dallas, and ended up sitting on the tarmac at DFW for over an hour as "the paperwork" was being corrected. Christ. So it was a long, tiring, day before we had even got to Salt Lake. I did sleep a bit on the flights, but it wasn't the best sleep.

5 September

Got up early (well, not really if you take the time zone into account) and it was off to a day full of meetings. In the afternoon we moved out to the University of Utah. It was a pretty nice campus, and there were many pretty nice young students, too. Heheh. The campus actually used to ba an old military base that dates back to the Spanish-American War. Or at least, that's what I was told.

From the university, we were given a tour of parts of the city relevant to our visit. We also saw the Mormon Temple. That's a big-arse building. They have a great big satellite dish on the grounds behind the big wall, too. The City and Council building was also an impressive structure, with turrets and battlements and stuff.

6 September

Woke up very early to return from Salt Lake City. We caught the first plane out at 6:30am, jumped on another plane in Dallas, and got back to Atlanta around 2ish.

I came home and tried to work from home, but it wasn't working out too well. Still very tired from DCon and funny time zones. I did tidy bits and pieces of my room and sorted out my mail from the last couple of days. a new leather travel wallet had arrived (yay) so now my regular wallet doesn't have to be quite so full. Woohoo.

Lauren wanted me to go have dinner with her and then go see Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back, but I don't want to see that until I've seen Chasing Amy. So we just went down to Apres Diem for dinner. Afterwards, I watched a bit of TV with John and then went to bed.

7 September

Friday at work started at 8:30 and finished at 6pm. And I got a bunch of stuff done. Not finished and closed, but done. After work festivities shall include Cyberia at some stage later this evening.

I still haven't managed to track down Michele. This is becoming more concerning. Her phone is giving a fast-busy ring. Hrm...

Damn. DSL just booted me off. You know, this is starting to get really annoying. I never used to have this much trouble. At least, I don't think I did. Oh well, Local at 8:30, Lauren's later, and then Cyberia. John's coming to Cyberia tonight, too, which kicks so much arse. The reason is amusing though: he and Charlotte are going out tomorrow night with some of Charlotte's friends, and he's coming out otnight to make sure he enjoys at least one night this weekend. Isn't that harsh? (Not that I blame him - nice people, but not really John's level.)

The Local was fun, as was Cyberia. Afterwards, we went to Kroger, the to Lauren's and fell asleep watching Wild At Heart.

8 September

Rough recovery day. I was going to do work stuff today, but my head is not functioning well. I did spend an hour or two on the deck reading, which was very pleasant.

I had a late dinner at the Local, and then popped over to Lauren's. I bailed out of Secret Room, but I idn't feel to bad about that as Glenn was going with Lauren anyway. I nipped back to the Local to get some cash and ran into Tania. Said "hi", etc, and then raced up to Blockbuster to pick up Chasing Amy but the door was locked. Bother. So I came home, watchad a little bit of SNL with John and Charlotte and went to bed.

9 September

Today I got up good and early and did laundry, made my bed, and got into the work I brought home from the office. My DSL link is remaining flakey, which is very annoying!

I finished up the stuff I wanted to do and went down to Apres Diem for lunch. Once again, the Atlantic Bendedict was my pick of the day. I caught with a few of the scenesters, and then I came home to do chores (laundry and such) and basically just chill out. I finished my anime book and ordered some more DVDs (Evangelion and X-Files and Blow.

10 September

Work was hard today. I couldn't concentrate too well. Not a good sign. I had a couple of minor epiphanies, but nothing that I could build from. Ah well.

After work I came home and hung out with John for a little bit until Sarah came home and the pair of them went bike riding. I took this opportunity to pull my exercycle into my room and also rode seven and a half miles in about fifteen minutes. Not too bad, I guess. I dunno how long I'll keep this up, but hell, it's got to be good for me, right? Right?

Anyways, I sorta crashed out for a bit while watching a The Daily Show rerun, and then John and Sarah got back. The rest of the night was rather lazy. So tired. I think I might just have to go to bed.

11 September

Exactly twenty months ago today I returned from a trip to New York that included a stop at the top of the World Trade Center's twin towers. This morning, at around 9am, planes were flown into both buildings. An hour and a half later, neither tower was standing.

The details can be found at CNN.com. I don't feel there's much to discuss about the immediate impact of this event; it was a pretty shocking tragedy. However, I do feel the need to repeat the contents of an email I sent to my father:

The footage is pretty amazing. The knee-jerk reactions over here are a little frightening, though.

I'm all for exacting justice upon the perpetrator (be it bin Laden or someone else) but I am concerned about the number of people who are calling for Kabul to razed. Sure I think the Taliban are a bad bunch, but the city is also full of civvies. I don't buy killing average Afghan Joes just because a Saudi living in Afghanistan organised the attacks.

And there is also the danger of making him a martyr: if bin Laden is killed, it will be open season on anybody who even might be American.

We shall see.

Marconi gave us the afternoon off work. I spent it in front of the TV and checking the news web sites. I was a little disappointed in some of the war-mongering that the journalists were embarking on. Disappointed and concerned. A reasoned and rational response is what is required; strength of arms should be used only against the perpetrators, not innocent people who live in the same country. And as for cries of, "if they don't like where they're living then they should get out" just look at what happened to a group of Afghan refugees trying to get into Australia (and here is another commentary). Think about how your own country feels about immigrants and especially refugees.

It's really weird, there are no planes in the sky. A little surreal. Hell, the whole day has been surreal. The traffic was very light coming home. There hasn't been much of a breeze outside (he says, looking out the window just to confirm this is the case).

After John and I had enough of watching the same news over again, we watched some anime, one of the DVDs I had picked up recently but not yet watched. Sort of slept through some of it. I think I'll watch it again. It was full of the usual angsty and some mecha combat. Lauren's not up for Waffle House, not that I blame her, but I just felt like it. I'll just grab a burger or something instead. Healthy food.

I did one better: I had fried eggs on toast. Jenny called asking if any of us wanted to go to the Local for a drink. None of us here are really in the mood to go out. Draining sort of day.

12 September

"Rode" seven miles and then went to the Local after work. We didn't do too well. Ah well. Went home after that.

13 September

14 September

Went to Ian's for a few beers after work. He has a nice pad. Then I went over the the Local for dinner (chicken philly wrap and a pint), and then popped over to Lauren's. From there we headed over to Rarity to see I, Parasite and Android Lust. I didn't get in to I, Parasite at all, but Android Lust was pretty cool. Grace was there, and I spent a bit of time hanging out with her. After the shows, Grace took three of the band to her place and I took the two others back to Lauren's.

15 September

Happy Birthday Maeve!

I left Lauren's around 10:15 and came home, ostensibly to do some work. That didn't quite happen. I ended up being distracted by Civilisation II for most of the day. That and miscellaneous IMing. All good fun. In the evening I went up to the Local for dinner. Colleen was donating all her tips to the NYC Fire Dept Relief fund for the families of all the firemen that lost their lives when the WTC collapsed. A very good cause. I had a good old chat with Keith and with Craig and then it was time to move on.

Innovox was my next destination, where DJ Relentless mixed together some awesome sounds. I was able to spend some time with Christian and Genevieve; the latter of the pair was exhibiting some of her artwork. Russ was also exhibiting some of his photography. All very excellent. I spent quite a bit of time with Rosalie and Wendy and Luca. And, of course, posed with Rosalie for Joe. Lauren joined us after Scott's set was finished and soon after we headed over to Billy's for his birthday celebration.

There was a good crowd at Billy's. Michele made an appearance, which was awesome. Also caught up with Jeanne, who I hadn't really seen in, well, over a year. Lot's more people there. Much vodka consumed. Lauren and Glenn dropped me home. Yay!

16 September

Happy Birthday Kary!

Let's see, I slept until about noon. I got up about 1pm and wandered into the living room and lay on the couch for the rest of the afternoon. I watched more coverage of the fallout from last week's attack and I watched the Power Puff Girls. I finished reading From Hell and I thoroughly recommend it to anybody interested in Jack The Ripper stories. I'm definitely looking forward to the upcoming movie. Jenny stopped by for a while to do laundry and then she dropped me back at my car (at the Local)

Eveningwise was very laid back. Sarah and Alice stopped in so Sarah could do washing. Alice brought her photo album and shared that with me. There is a great photo of me and John at one of the parties at John's old apartment, and there are the photo's that I took the morning that John and I went over to Alice's for breakfast. I think that was the day of the Decatur Beer Festival. Wow, that was a while ago - about this time last year I think. That was awfully fun.

John eventually arrived home from his trip to Kentucky for his cousin's wedding. We just basically relaxed and watched TV. BEdtime occurred at 11:30, after South Park.

17 September

I didn't want to go to work today. I was too tired still. But I did. And I received some good news. My application for permanent resident alien status has been approved by the INS. What remains now is a six to nine month wait for the bureaucracy to give me a number. But that made me oh so happy.

Left work around 6:30 and came home. I didn't really feel up to exercising, but I got started and John egged me on to continue. I did about five and a half miles today. Not great, especially since I did over eight miles on Friday. But at least I've managed to continue so far. I really do need to burn some of this blubber. I just have a problem with willpower.

Charlotte made stuffed peppers for dinner, which was very nice of her. Yet another day of not having to spend money on dinner has got to be good for my wallet. What surprised me though was that I was so hungry at dinner time; I had eaten a foot long sub for lunch at 1:30. Eh, I dunno. I should be doing more work tonight, but the motivation is proving elusive. I have some big commitments/deliverables this week. Once again, we shall see how things go.

Ooh, I got stuff today. Sun Tzu's The Art of War arrived from Easton Press, and my shipment from Metropolis arrived: three VNV Nation CDs - Genesis.1, Genesis.2, and Advance And Follow (V2). Yay for stuff!

Damn. From the less than pleasant news desk, I received an estimate from my health insurer regarding how much of some possible tooth-work I require they will cover. Unfortunately, it is not a lot. I could end up with a $7600 bill. I need to talk to my periodontist about this.

18 September

Late night stop down at the Highlander to celebrate Wendy's and Joe's birthdays at the strike of midnight. I got there earlier than that in order to have some food (mmm, Pete's Burger) and chat with whoever else was earlier. Clair and Stacie were first to arrive, followed by Pete and Carl. All fun and games. Scott brought along Rosalie and Wendy and celebratory drinks were had. Joe arrived, Lauren arrived, and more people arrived. I left about 12:30. I paid $24 of the tab, including a tip, but because I didn't write the tip out separatelyh they charged me an extra 20%. Not impressed.

19 September

Happy Birthday Wendy and Joe!

Home from work, 7.5 miles on my bike, and then off to the Local. Charlotte had invited a friend of her's (Christina) from nursing along to Trivia tonight. Certain parties at the table were not too impressed with this turn of events, so I didn't get too much opportunity to sit with Christina and chat. But she was cute and came across as an interesting person, so I (and Charlotte) suggested/encouraged her to come out to Cyberia at Rarity on Friday night.

As for the Trivia, well, we did poorly again. C'est la vie.

20 September

Happy Birthday Celise!

Warwick was out of the office today, so I was able to concentrate better on finishing up the specifications I needed to release. Sharing an office can be quite distracting. I'm not sure how I'm going to handle working in a cube-farm if that's what the case is going to be when we move to Norcross. I have gone, in the past six months from having my own office, to sharing an office. The cube-farm thing I find slightly depressing.

After work was laid back. I started work on a budget and such things to try and get a hold on my spending. I earn a lot of money; I should be able to save a hell of a lot more than I am. This is very frustrating.

21 September

Oh boy oh boy oh boy. From work, I dropped Chris off at his hotel and waited for him at the Rock Bottom Brewery, a pub next to his hotel. I had a couple of pints of their house-brewed brown ale (which was very tasty and a good price - $3.50 a pint) before Chris turned up, and then we had a couple more before heading back along Peachtree Street to the Rose and Crown. At the Rose a pint of Newcastle cost a lot more than I had remembered ($5 a pint) so we decided that we wouldn't stay there very long. We waited for Peter and Yvonne to find us, and a pint later we headed over the road to Fado. Another pint or two later and the next stop was The Rib Shack for more beers (Shiner Bock) and food (awesome ribs). Brad met up with us there and after our extensive feed we headed over to another English-style pub for more beers, pool and darts. Chris had heard about a drink in a fishbowl that came with a plastic alligator, so he disappeared to find the place selling those. A little while later, I went in search of him. I find him, ordered the same thing, but couldn't finish it, due largely to the sweetness of the drink. Ah well

It was a little after midnight, so I left Chris there and hunted down a taxi to take me to Rarity. After doing the rounds, greeting everybody and seeing who was there, I found Christina (yay!) and spent most of the night talking/flirting with her. I moved on to water at this point in time, which was a good idea, because I ended up driving Chrstina's car back to my place after the bar closed, so that she could get some more water and sober up further for her drive home. Definitely a cool girl. Before she left, I asked for her phone number and if she was interested in coming to a party with me on Saturday night. She said she wasn't sure, but also that I should call her. Rock on. I think it was around 5:30 when she left.

I learned earlier in the day that Catatonia was officially breaking up.

22 September

Ugh! I was awakened at ten o'clock by people digging up the road outside my window. Damn jackhammers and other noisey equipment. So no sleep-in for Damon this morning. I did move from my bedroom to the living room. I even spent some time on the deck talking to Sarah before she went off to class. John gave me a lift up to Buckhead midafternoon so I could collect my car. When I got back I checked the mail and went to lie on my bed and read the latest Economist. I think I snoozed for about an hour. Heheh. At a bit before six I gave Christina a call to see if she was interested in going out for dinner and checking out one of the parties (Bill was having a party and Will was having a party). She indicated interest, so I arranged to pick her up at 7:30. It had been a while since I had asked someone out on a date, so I was very pleased with the progress so far :-).

I picked Christina up at 7:30 and we headed to The Patio, a very pleasantly set up restaurant in the Inman Park/Little Five Points area. We had a table in the little patio/courtyard area, and I ordered us a bottle of Stoneleigh Pinot Noir. This was an excellent wee drop, from NZ. I started with a very tasty salad (insalato misto) and my main course was black pepper ravioli, stuffed with veal, and covered with a mushroom sauce that was loaded with portabello mushrooms. It was awesome. Christina ordered a gourmet cheese pizza, which she also enjoyed. The dinner conversation was fun and lively; I think we had a good rapport going on.

After dinner we headed over to Bill's. This was really fun. It was a laid back little affair, although with plenty of alcohol to go round. John and Charlotte arrived with jello shots and Jenny. Ben was running around with a digital camera - I shudder to think what the results of that is going to be (I will link in the pics when I know where Ben has put them). I was a little concerned about some of the conversations that Jenny was having with Christina, but I decided that I wouldn't worry about it. Charlotte was there to make sure an even keel was kept on the situation.

It was around two that we left, and I dropped Christina back at her place. I think she enjoyed the evening. Although, I think she might have been a little disconcerted when Charlotte started suggesting plans for the four of us (Charlotte, John, Christina, myself) to go away for a weekend. I can understand that, I mean, we've known each other less than a week. But Charlotte has a good heart and means well.

On my way back into town, I had a conversation with Lauren, who was still at Will's party. She expressed the feeling that I should stop on by and then the pair of us should get some food. I was tired, but I thought it would be polite to stop by and wish Will happy birthday. So I did.

Things were slowing down when I got there (not surprising, considering the time), but I first encountered Clay, and, wandering through, Aimee, Will, Jessee, Grace. Yes, Grace. She gave me a very warm welcome, even as she was actually leaving. That was interesting (and not unpleasant at all). Squigg tackled me as I approached the deck, where I was also to find Lauren and Shane. I stayed for (most of) one beer, and then Lauren and I headed over to Waffle House for a bite to eat. Another late night...

23 September

Once again I was awoken by maintenance - this time my neighbour working on his deck. At least it was midday and not ten in the morning. John made breakfast and we chatted about last night. We watched some of the Atlanta Falcons football game before John headed off to play racquet ball with Linda. I started reading my collection of short stories by Nikolai Gogol. Aside: Christina is into Russian writers, and likes one of my all-time favourites, Anton Chekhov.

Watched Traffic. Very good film. One I think I will get for my collection. Popped down to the Local to see Stacy and Dill.

24 September

Today's horoscope:

You don't need to satisfy others' tastes because you have a clear sense of fashion, design and style. Your standards easily exceed mediocrity, but your budget may not accommodate your champagne tastes. You're gifted at working miracles on a shoestring -- a talent that should keep you out of bankruptcy. Do more with less.

Hrm....a sense of fashion, design, and style, eh? Well, I always knew it; I just wondered if my peers ever realised :-)

Was going to see Wilco tonight but they sold out. John, Sarah and I had a chat to try and plan out the future of the apartment. Sarah and Alice have found a place they like that they want to move in together at. This will affect our rent, etc. John's going to talk to our landlord and discuss the options. Looks like my miracle-working power might come in handy.

Talked to Bria online and then she called. Opera this Thursday is Falstaff. I usually take Lauren, but I'm thinking about asking Christina if she would like to go. The logistics could be a little awkward considering the amount of notice. Maybe another time.

25 September

Busy day at work. Lots of shit going on. Stress stress stress. Brought a bunch of it home with me. Yippee. Oh yeah, a bird dead with the West Nile Virus was discovered somewhere close to work.

Dealt with the work stuff. Made scrambled eggs for dinner. Watched Road Trip on HBO. Watched Don't Shoot Me and then time for The Daily Show. What a day.

It's getting colder.

I called Christina and left a message on the answering machine. Well, I hope that was her father's voice on the answering machine, or else someone will be amused. Oh well.

26 September

Busy work then trivia. I did over nine miles on my exercise thingy today. Good Damon. We sucked arse at trivia again. And then John and I stayed at the Local until after 2am. Not a good thing.

Oh yeah, and I got hit on my way to work. I had just come off I-75 and was waiting to turn onto Windy Hill Road when the guy behind me decided I was going when I wasn't. I'm all in one piece. My bumper is split and I have a dent in the trunk (boot). Sucky sucky sucky!

I stayed up late and caught Michele on IM when I was online. It appears she was in an accident as well just recently. Not good, but at least she's fine.

27 September

John didn't make it to work today. I did. I had to. I had meetings and things all day. Starting with a staff meeting at 8am. I hate getting up early. I was late out of work, too, and made it home in time to go out to the opera (Falstaff) with Lauren.

The opera was great. There was no single performer that stood out - all were excellent. The story itself, being based on Shakespeare's The Merry Wives of Windsor was engaging and the full comedic value was expressed by the cast. Excellent.

Then we were hungry, as neither of us had eaten. Well, except for some baby corn that Lauren had picked up from her place and whcih we munched on while walking up to the Fox. Heheh. So we wandered towards Andaluz, but rather than eating there, we stopped at Baraonda, which was on the way. The service initially was very sloppy: no one took our order, although we did get bread and our water was regularaly replenished. When we did finally order, the food that came (bruschetta, gourmet pizzas) was outstanding. In fact, I still have some (Saturday) that I might just have to eat for lunch...

28 September

I would have liked more sleep, but work was a-calling, and more meetings were to be had. All in all, this week's meetings have been very successful and enlightening. Other stuff at work has been more stressful, but nothing I should really dwell on.

After work I came home and did a short stint on my bike and then hit the shower. Charlotte had informed me that Christina would be over around sevenish for dinner, and that we would all be heading over to see John's friend Henry perform at Eyedrum. John and I had discussed going to Eyedrum earlier in the week; I am quite pleased that the plan had unfolded in this manner seeing as I had been unable to get in touch with Christina.

Christina brought a bottle of Giesen Pinot Noir, 1999, that she had picked up at the Farmer's Market. I was very pleased that she had remembered the style of wine that we had last week, and picked out a good New Zealand bottle. Dinner was up to Charlotte's usual excellent standard, and Christina and I finished the pinot noir. It was very tasty; very impressed. Yes, I'm grinning as I type this.

After dinner, we watched some television (before and during dinner we introduced Christina to our favourite news show, The Daily Show and our favourite trivia show, Win Ben Stein's Money. After that we watched some stand-up and the start of a doco about Sam Kinison. Then we jumped in John's car and shot over to Eyedrum. Oh yeah, and while watching TV we saw the trailer for From Hell. I am so looking forward to this movie.

The Eyedrum space was really cool, although this was their last night. We bought some drinks (the beer choice was PBR and Asahi - learn about the history of Japanese beer industry - we took the Asian route) and hung out, listening to the music. All of the bands that played had a shoegazer/dreampop/ethereal feel. It was awesome. I was once again very happy with the progression of the night. And Henry was outstanding. I didn't have any cash on me, otherwise I would have purchased CDs from all of the performers:

  • stillife;gaijin
  • Miles Tilmann
  • Lanterna (Henry's band)

After the show we quickly discussed our next destination: Rarity, Local, or Home. The Local was selected, and off we went!. Ben was there, with Katie, another of our regular Trivia opponents. Dan the Actor Man was also in attendance, and Axel was also floating around. Christina and I spent much of the time talking between ourselves, getting to know each other. She wanted to know more about me and what makes me tick, so I told her. I think she just liked listening to my (über-sexy) accent. :-).

I think we closed the bar out at around and headed back home. Alas, my noisy sleeping drove Christina home a little before the break of day...

29 September

Black Rebel Motorcycle Club are playing somewhere in Atlanta tonight. I'm interested in checking them out.

I arose around midday and had a breakfast of yesterday's leftovers. Num num num. We (John, Charlotte and I) watched some college football and then threw on the Season One DVD of The Simpsons, which had arrived yesterday. Woohoo!!

After John and Charlotte fell asleep on the couch, I wandered back into my room to turn more of my CDs into MP3s, update my journal, do laundry, tidy, and other such things. I noticed that Christina left her ring and earrings here; not that she should need an excuse to return. I think she likes me. I think I like her, too.

Later in the day I gave Christina a call to invite her over to watch movies. John, Charlotte and I went down to Borders to see Henry perform again. John picked up one of his CDs, and I bought a couple of magazines (Magnet and Q). We shot up to Videodrome and picked up Chasing Amy and headed home. Christina arrived a little while later and then we ate and watched the movie.

It was interesting and enjoyable, although not quite what I had expected based on what I had been told about it. We discussed some of the themes afterwards; a good old conversation which then devolved into Bush-bashing. I'm not entirely sure how that happened, but in concept it was kinda amuusing. Ah well. We then watched some more Simpsons, and sometime between 12 and 1 John and Charlotte went to bed and Christina went home.

30 September

Stacy called me at 6am. I did not need that sort of wake-up call. Ugh.

I woke/got up for proper around 10:30. I did more laundry, and read more of the magazines I picked up yesterady, and ripped more CDs. And I downloaded more MP3s of bands I wanted to check out. What a morning.

Oh - Lauren called me at 12:30 to inform me that Thurston had caught and killed a mouse. Who's a clever Thurston, then?

Information for you: What is Taurine, aside from being an ingredient in Red Bull?

31 September

Don't be silly, there is no 31st of September!
